In the first days after a death, reactions like these often appear: trouble falling asleep, loss of appetite, difficulty concentrating, a sense of fog or detachment, waves of crying and moments of feeling nothing at all. These are familiar responses to loss.
It is worth seeing your family doctor or a professional if the reactions do not ease over weeks, if they interfere with daily life, or in any case of thoughts of harming yourself – and then right away.
